Edam Taktek
3rd year Data Science Engineering Student | Python, Machine Learning
I am a Data Science engineering student at the National School of Electronics and Telecommunications (ENET'Com) in Sfax, Tunisia, passionate about turning data into useful predictions and insights. My work sits at the intersection of machine learning, time series forecasting, and deep learning.
Internships & Experience
KPIT Technologies — Intern, CAN Anomaly Detection
I built an unsupervised LSTM autoencoder using 17-dimensional CAN frame features (payload, byte delta, gap ratio timing signals) for anomaly detection. I evaluated it across four generalization scenarios (same/different vehicle, known/unknown attack type), reaching PR-AUC 0.83 when both vehicle and attack were seen during training, and reliably detecting timing-based attacks (e.g., DoS, standstill) with a validation-calibrated gap ratio rule.
Finlogik — Software Automation Intern
Automated test scenarios for a financial services web application with Selenium and Java, and built a Flask dashboard to trigger and track test runs.
Freelance Python Developer
Built web-scraping pipelines with BeautifulSoup, Playwright, and Celery.
Projects
NYC Ferry Ridership Forecasting
I first approached a local ferry company (Sonotrak, Sfax) to forecast passenger demand, but their data couldn't be shared, so I built the project on NYC's public ferry data instead. I predicted hourly passenger demand at stop level by combining Semantic Web technologies (OWL, SWRL) with traditional ML via ontology-driven feature engineering, reaching ~46% WMAPE with a global Ridge Regression model.
Tunisian Dialect Classification
An ML model that classifies Tunisian dialect texts into positive or negative sentiment.

Beyond Code
When I'm not training models, you'll find me behind a lens or in a creative flow: photography with my Canon 550D, 3D design in Blender, photo/video editing, and making friendship bracelets.
